Spy-IL16 is the original Spy-IL microphone transmitter design introduced in 2006. This model retains its original configuration: an electret microphone, adjustable FM transmission and a connector for a standard 9V PP3 battery.
The 58 × 35 mm enclosure houses the transmitter circuit. Its operating frequency is adjustable with a tuning capacitor. It is a different design from the one-button-tuned transmitters elsewhere in the range.
Audio is transmitted live to a separate FM radio. The unit does not store recordings internally. A receiver covering 88–108 MHz can be used when tuned to the same frequency.
