A few useful answers.
Understand the setup before choosing a model.
Do I need a receiver?
FM and UHF transmitters send audio live to a separate compatible receiver. Kits include the receiver listed on their product page. Spy-IL1 records to internal memory instead.
Can I use a normal FM radio?
Only when it covers your transmitter’s frequency. Many US radios start at 88 MHz and cannot receive a transmitter set to 77 MHz. Spy-IL17 covers 63–108 MHz.
Can one receiver handle FM and UHF?
These are different bands. Spy-IL17 is for compatible FM transmitters. Spy-IL15 covers compatible UHF frequencies and an FM broadcast band; check its product page for exact ranges.
Is the quoted range guaranteed?
No. Published maxima and demonstrations depend on receiver sensitivity, antennas, obstacles and interference. A kit’s range may differ from the transmitter’s maximum with another receiver.
Are batteries included?
It depends on the model. Every product page lists its battery type and whether it is included. Receiver batteries may be separate from transmitter batteries.
How much is US shipping?
The standard rate is $9.00 per item or kit. Orders dispatch from Hollywood, Florida in 2–3 business days, followed by an estimated 3–5 business days in transit.
Can I return an item?
Returns are accepted within 14 days after receipt. The buyer pays return shipping. Contact Alex for instructions.
Will below-88 MHz FM audio be private?
No. A compatible receiver tuned to the same signal may receive it. Being outside a common broadcast tuning range does not provide encryption.
Not sure which receiver you need?
Ask Alex before you choose. FM and UHF need different receivers.
